Hungary scored an important 23-15 win over Greece in a close to capacity Fillippeio

hall. The Magyars went off to a flying start, blocked Greece’s key players and

managed to go up by five goals (5-0) after five minutes of play and 9-2 later on. The

Hellenic team finally made their kick before half-time which ended 12-9 in Hungary’s

Greece cut the difference to a mere two goals in the beginning of the second half,

but Hungary tightened their defence once more and built again a six-goal lead (19-

13) which was enough to secure them their second victory at VRILITTOS 2016.

Attila Vago (Coach – Hungary): “It was a great game against a team which has good

players. We started well, but Greece changed their defence and edged pretty close.

When the difference was cut to goals the bell rang for my players, who rapidly

improved their play and won the match. Congratulations to both teams and of

course the organisers of VRILITTOS 2016.”

Tasos Chatziparasidis (Coach – Greece): “There’s no doubt, Hungary was better than

us. It was a very challenging game but we didn’t respond as we should have done. I

have to give credit to my players though, because the tried hard.”
